"Metropolis", a masterpiece of silent movie, has been attached music by many musicians from 1927, the year of the first showing. Modern musicians, Yuko Ikoma, Umitaro Abe and Kosuke Shimizu, stay in Kanazawa and compose music for this showing. They will play music (on the accordion, the piano, the contrabass and the handmade musical instrument etc.) to the film.

However it was a hierarchical society that was separated into the privileged classes and the working class in fact. Maria of robot made from beautiful girl of the working class instigated the oppressed and broke out a revolution. This film is not only a monumental landmark in SF movie but also an icon of the culture.

He was born in 1978. Musician and composer. He plays his music on the piano, the violin and the pandeiro etc.. He studied in Tokyo University of the Arts and Sorbonne. These days, he handles music of Shakespeare works directed by Yukio Ninagawa, CF and movies.

Kosuke ShimizuKosuke Shimizu(mama! milk)

He started a musical performance from teenage. He experienced various things, improvisation and contemporary dance etc.. Now he plays an active role as a contrabass player in "mama! milk" and others. He also handles design of stage when he collaborates with dance or works of image.
